My husband and I have always been big fans of Primantis when in Pittsburgh and were excited to have one come to State College! The restaurant didn't disappoint - good seating, good beer specials, neat atmosphere, and good food! The sandwiches were on par with any other Primantis and are obviously what they are known for but don't be afraid to venture out on the menu - their pizza is delicious! Someone who I assumed was the manager came around and checked on us and was very friendly. Can't wait to go here during football and hockey season to catch some Pens and Steelers games!

Have been wanting to try this brand for quite a while - so on a trip to Cleveland from the East Coast stopped in to this "branch" in State College. More of a sports-bar than I expected - but that's fine. Burgers and wings looked good, but had to try one of the sandwiches. Had a special that included an egg on top. Was a little disappointed that the egg was hard fried so didn't the egg yolk "sauce" I was hoping for - but the mix of deli meats and slaw and fries was good - a big sandwich on the slab of Italian bread. Also had the pub pickles - very good - nice crunchy crust. A solid three-star experience.

This is a Pittsburgh staple and while most come for the sandwiches (which are great) I also recommend the white pizza! It is so good and beer specials are great. Also, during the summer they have a "patio" which is dog friendly, there are only 4 outside tables but we have never had trouble getting a table. Check them out, they don't disappoint! Thank you Primanti's for allowing our family on your patio!!

Great location, I loved the bread on the sandwich, but other than that I don't think it's my kind of sandwich. I will have to try something different next time.

Fun place with good food. The atmosphere is fun and it's right downtown. There is a big parking lot across the street and we had a great time. The angus sandwich was good but the pizza was better. Definitely have to go back to try some other items.

Food came fast and the food was good. had the When Pigs Fly. Excellent. Food was just as good as the original in Pittsburgh. I know because my wife went there for lunch the same day.

Great atmosphere, people, and food...just one big piece of advice, don't get the Pittsburger unless if you want to relive the experience of eating a high school cafeteria burger.

This was my first time visiting the State College restaurant. Overall the experience was good but there is room for improvement. There were five of us eating together but we were put at a table for four with a chair pulled on the end. The restaurant wasn't busy so I'm not sure why we didn't get a bigger table especially when I later saw a group of three being seated at a table for eight. The food was good but nothing special. The service wasn't great. One of the orders came out wrong and the waitress often let our drinks run out. Overall everything was decent. Nothing terrible but not great either. The restaurant is still new to the area so I am sure they are still working through issues. I will visit again in a few weeks to give them another shot to redeem themselves.

They definitely could not have picked a better location to put this place. Located by Calder Way, right between Beaver and College Avenues, State College Primanti's is in a fantastic location to stop by if you're in town for the big game this weekend or if you're downtown checking out Happy Valley's shopping district. When you walk in, you definitely get the vibe that this is some classic Pee-Ay style going on here. Done up like any sports bar in Pennsylvania would be, there's an even mix of Pittsburgh traditions (a fair number of Terrible Towels hanging around), plenty of PSU memorabilia, and even some Philly teams represented. Atmosphere is just plain relaxing and fun. When your food is served, you may get a sandwich on a simple tin place, silverware in a Mason jar, and an order of fries in one of those little paper boats. This place just says, "Hey, it's Friday night, you worked hard, just chill out with your friends and have a good time." As for the food... good lord, I am not worthy to judge the wonder that is a Primanti Bros. sandwich. I got the bacon and egg sandwich, and that thing was STACKED. That's how Pittsburgh does it, and I have no doubt that is was faithful to the original Primanti's back in Yinzburgh. Having a Primanti Bros. sandwich is an experience. Wait staff was really friendly and laid-back. This place is a little new yet, but I have no doubt Primanti's is going to over them coming years become a staple of downtown State College.

Ever since watching the food networks episode, when they took a tour of Primanti Bros in Pittsburgh Ive been wanting to try it out for myself. We were in State college for Thon and decide that this was the perfect time to go. The wait time was about a hour, but with kids it felt longer. They take your phone number and send you a text when your table is ready. You have 5 minutes to respond before they give the table away. The menu had plenty to choose from, salads, sandwiches, and more. I wanted to try the signature item which comes with coleslaw and fries on your sandwich of choice. I ordered the corned beef and what a sandwich it was. It was huge! In order to eat it you would have to unhinge your jaw just to take a bite. The prices were reasonable, for a family of 4 the bill came to $30 and that included tip. Since its in State college parking can get tricky. The location is great for college students walking from the campus but for us driving around that was not the case. There is a large parking lot across the street that is a paid lot. The fee to park is cheap, if the machine would've been working it would've cost us $1.50 but we got lucky and parked for free. They also have limited metered street parking but I hate parallel parking.

The part about not asking for extra anything is true. Don't ask for it unless you ask how much it is and only if you want to pay for it. I ordered by wings to be "soaked" in sauce and they were too dry. So I asked for more sauce to pour on them. The sauce was brought to the table by one of the runners. When I asked the waiter for more, he said he would have to charge me $.75 for it. I said "but the other guy didn't say anything about that." Our server checked and it was DEFINITELY on the bill. So I told the waiter about how that was NOT cool. He was nice enough about it but didn't exactly comp me the extra sauce either. So I told him it was coming out of HIS gratuity. And I am a HUGE tipper to wait staff busting their asses. The pizza was good. But, being from Philly, I've had way better. The wings really ARE good if you can get them how you like them cooked. I like mine crispy and soaked. I've been to the one on The Strip in Pittsburgh. That was about 10 years ago and the menu was definitely much bigger. Do question about being charged extra for anything you might consider a courtesy.

Glad to see this addition to State College. Service is great. Selection and prices are great. Beer selection is better than expected. Food is less than ok. Menu is intriguing but execution was bad. Hope it improves. Children's chicken fingers were the best item at our table.

I had the Pastrami and Cheese Sandwich original. After a 20 minute wait for our food to arrive . (this was at the tail end of lunch hour) It was Ok... Not life changing... Just Ok. It's a new location so their might be a learning curve. Never ate at any other location but with the reputation I would have thought it would have been better. I will probably try in a month or so to see if it has gotten any better.

We ate at the Pittsburgh location thus skeptical if they could match it. We were pressed for time so we got it to go. The wings are not the best, my son has had better. My black bean burger was bangin'! The roll was awesome. I'll return for it again. The fries are good too. Next time we'll dine in.

my friend is inside drinking. i'm standing outside waiting to get in. there is no line. they wont let me in because my friend needs to come to the door to get me. welcome to daycare. you have to stay seated while inside--no standing or a fat guy in a red shirt will yell at you. and the food sucks. slaw is gross, sandwiches are tasteless.

This was my first time at a Primanti Brothers location. As I entered I was greeted and seated quickly. Our server was Dominic, he was very friendly. I asked him what was good here and he replied "everything" so I said I wanted a classic Primanti Brothers sandwich. Dominic said he recommends the Hell Bent, a limited time offering with salami, capicola, and mortadella, so I got one. My guest ordered the ham sandwich. The food came quickly to our table and it looked great. It was a piled high gift from Oden himself. The only thing better than the appearance was the taste. I'm not kidding when I say it took less than 4 minutes to completely inhale the entire sandwich. My guest took her time, so I helped her out with her sandwich too. When Dominic returned he offered us dessert. The in house made bread pudding with Maker's Mark whiskey was fantastic. Sweet, creamy, and a hint of Maker's Mark make this dessert an instant favorite. Needless to say I WILL RETURN.

This has quickly become one of my State College favorites. The food is good, the service is good, it's quick, it's convenient when coming from campus, and there is enough on the menu to switch it up and stay happy. For a new restaurant to the area it is well-run and the costs are significantly better than some of the other restaurants I frequent in the area. Portions are huge, so you shouldn't leave hungry.
